What This Role Is

We run SEO for U.S. home services companies. Plumbers, HVAC contractors, roofers, electricians. Businesses that live or die by their Google rankings in a specific city or zip code.

We are looking for a senior SEO specialist who owns Local SEO and on-page work across multiple client accounts. This is not a coordinator role. This is not a writing role. This is not a developer role. You will be the person who decides what moves rankings and then executes it.

If you have spent years studying how Americans search for services near them, you know what Google Business Profile optimization actually does, and you can spot a poorly structured title tag from a mile away, read on.

If you are looking for your first SEO job, this is not it.

Responsabilities

Local SEO

  • Set up and manage BrightLocal for multiple client accounts
  • Run citation audits and fix NAP inconsistencies across all major directories
  • Optimize Google Business Profile listings on an ongoing basis
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify ranking gaps and opportunities
  • Monitor local pack performance and report on movement weekly

On-Page Optimization

  • Write and revise title tags, meta descriptions, H1s, and heading structures
  • Clean up URL structures and internal linking across client sites
  • Audit pages for on-page issues and fix them with clear documentation
  • No keyword stuffing. Ever.

Keyword Research & Strategy

  • Research keywords using Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Keyword Planner
  • Map keywords to the right pages and identify gaps
  • Understand U.S. search intent, not just search volume
  • Translate research into clear page-level recommendations

Content Guidance

  • Brief writers on what each page needs to rank
  • Review AI-generated content and rewrite or flag anything that does not read like natural American English
  • You are not the writer, but you are responsible for the output meeting SEO standards

Reporting

  • Track rankings and organic traffic across all accounts
  • Identify what is working, what is not, and what to do next
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports with clear takeaways, not just data dumps

What This Jobs Requires

We can teach tools. We cannot teach you to think like a U.S. consumer or to care about accuracy in your work. If you cannot manage multiple accounts without dropping the ball, do not apply.

  • 3+ years of SEO experience with Local SEO as a core part of your work
  • Proven hands-on experience with BrightLocal, WhiteSpark, Ahrefs, and SEMrush
  • Excellent written and spoken English at a U.S. business level. Your reports, briefs, and communication will be read by American clients and account managers
  • Comfortable managing several client accounts at once without being micromanaged
  • You work independently and raise issues before they become problems, not after
  • Familiarity with home services, contractor industries, or multi-location local SEO is a strong plus

This is Not a Fit if You Are:

  • New to SEO or still learning the basics
  • Primarily a content writer looking to move into SEO
  • A developer who touches SEO as a side task
  • Someone who thinks more keywords on a page means better rankings

We will find out in the first week. Save everyone the time.
